Twilight Sailing

Come and test your sailing skills in our Twilight Sailing series, the highlight of the summer months. Not only will you get to enjoy a beautiful evening on the water, but you'll also have the opportunity to compete with like-minded sailors and show off your sailing prowess.

Terms and conditions

* The following conditions apply for Twilight Sailing:

  • Five-minute warning will be signaled by the starters siren.

  • Finishing times will be generally around dusk or as determined by the starter.

  • All entrants must register with Castlecrag Marine and pay all fees prior to competing.

  • Handicaps will be determined by the starter. Please ring Stuart on 02 9958 0425 prior to the race to confirm handicaps.

  • Handicaps will be altered at the starters discretion or by result i.e. first loses 5 minutes, second 4 minutes, third 3 minutes, fourth 2 minutes, fifth 1 minute. Conversely, last will gain 5 minutes, second last 4 minutes etc.

  • Points will be awarded as follows

    • First: 70

    • Second: 64

    • Third: 59

    • Fourth: 55

    • Fifth: 52

  • Races will take place on water immediately west of the Spit Bridge.

  • Sailing among moored boats will result in disqualification.

  • The starter may change, cancel, postpone or disqualify any competitor, race or course at his discretion.

  • Protests will NOT be heard

  • All vessels must carry comprehensive insurance to cover any damage they may cause. A copy of your certificate of insurance must be forwarded with your entry form prior to commencement of racing.

  • All competitors are expected to behave according to the true traditions of yachting.
